In an effort to make the AT equipment check-out and check-in process more efficient (and quicker), we are now asking that when you request AT equipment you fill out the top portion of the AT equipment check out form and email it to Kelly Carlson or Julia Peterson to start the process. Most items have a brief description as well as a link (usually to a vendor) that provides you with further information about the item.

The LoTTIE Kit for Math is full of a variety of low tech tools and more mid tech, hand held electronic tools than any other LoTTIE kit, as well as two software based tools - the Math Grids disk and Math Maker Templates, a series of self-running templates that help students to do math problems on the computer.

  • Math Shark

  • Texas Instruments TI-15 Explorer Calculator
    A calculator for fractions with a full screen display that actually shows fractions and mixed numbers as students would write them. The calculator allows students to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions; simplify fractions; display division results as remainders, fractions, or decimals; learn place values; and do all other typical calculator functions.
  • Talking Calculator
    Don't miss this calculator that reads back every keystroke and answer. Great for students with visual impairment but equally as valuable for students who need to see and hear answers in order to get them accurately to their papers. Has a special button so that answers can read back as individual digits or in correct nomenclature.
  • Numbers & Math Symbols Rubber Stamps
    Set of rubber stamps includes numbers 0-9, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and equals signs.
  • Fractiongrams Stamp
    Set of 2 stamps helps students understand fractions by demonstrating parts, and their relations to the whole. One stamp is one complete whole, the other a division of that whole into rectangles, each a part of the whole and other rectangles above or below demonstrating 1, 1/2's, 1/3's, 1/4's, 1/5's, 1/6's, 1/8's, 1/9's, and 1/10's.
  • Number Line Rubber Stamps

  • The Master Ruler
    The perfect tool for teaching length measurement and their divisions. This math software program is used for a wide range of abilities. Problems appear one at a time on the screen. The goal is to answer them as fast as you can. Each time you enter the answer correctly, your dragster or horse will go faster. You race against your five previous best races that are replayed on screen-six lanes with six dragsters or six riderless horses in all. The sooner you reach the finish line, the better your score will be.

Virtual Pencil PC
Virtual Pencil is computer software that is used to interactively solve math problems. It is designed for those who are pencil impaired: unable to operate a pencil effectively. This is not a tutorial, although tutorial mode is part of the package. Think of it as a virtual pencil, a tool that can be used to solve a math problem. It moves to the right spot on the "paper", guided by the user, and inputs the answers that the user selects. When used with a screen reader the numbers and actions are read outloud, or displayed in Braille
